The CW has dropped the first trailer for the upcoming fifth season of Legends of Tomorrow, and by the looks of things, next season could be the show’s quirkiest run ever.

The minute-long clip opens with a shot of Brandon Routh as Kingdom Come Superman followed by a quick peek at Mar Navu (LaMonica Garrett),  aka The Monitor, who will play a huge role in the highly anticipated five-part Arrowverse crossover, Crisis on Infinite Earths.

The trailer then cuts to a clip recreating the opening scene of the iconic children’s TV series Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, with Routh’s Ray Palmer acting as the host, Fred Rogers.  Zanily enough, the child-friendly scene introduces a series of snippets from Season 5, which aren’t really that suitable for very young audiences.

There’s a knife-wielding character smashing the window of a car; Sarah (Caity Lotz) and Ava (Jes Macallan) having a raunchy dance together; terrified Charlie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Gary (Adam Tsekhman) crawling on the floor; Mona (Ramona Young) lying naked in a sea of Beebo stuffed toys; Ray being attacked by a headless woman; Genghis Khan (Terry Chen) on an electric scooter; Nate (Nick Zano) starring in a video with super bad visual effects; and a glammed-up Zari (Tala Ashe) video-recording Mick (Dominic Purcell) as he passes out.

After the Legends ended up changing the timeline and Zari’s past at the end of the Season 4 finale, Zari will reportedly return in the new season as some kind of a celebrity or a social media influencer. Though the Zari is no longer the owner of the air totem, showrunner Phil Klemmer previously said that fans will still see more of Zari as Season 5 will explore her relationship with her brother, Behrad Tarazi (Shayan Sobhian). “That’s the one energy we’ve never had,” Klemmer said of Zari and Behrad’s sibling dynamic in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “That seems like it’s going to be fun.”

Though Constantine (Matt Ryan) and Season 5 big bad Astra (Olivia Swann) only have a few moments in the trailer, the next season will considerably revolve around them as well.

“We’re so excited about having Astra back this season as our big bad,” executive producer Keto Shimizu told Entertainment Weekly, noting that a lot of what John is going to be dealing in the upcoming season is connected to his “very complicated” relationship with Astra as well as his desire to save her despite all the pain and trouble that she will be bringing to the Legends.

Legends of Tomorrow Season 5 premieres on Tuesday, January 21st at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. The season premiere comes a week after the show’s episode in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.
