After The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part debuted at No. 1 at the box office last weekend, LEGO gave fans a little treat by revealing three additional building sets based on key characters and moments from the animated film.
Unveiled a few days before the start of this weekend’s New York Toy Fair, the three new sets — Emmet’s Triple-Decker Couch Mech, Queen Watevra’s “So-Not-Evil” Space Palace, and Shimmer & Shine Sparkle Spa! — bring the number of LEGO building sets inspired by the hit sequel to a total of 25.
Emmet’s Triple-Decker Couch Mech is a 322-piece building set that includes an Emmet toy minifigure, Sweet Mayhem mini-doll figure, and a new LEGO Unikitty as Rampage Kitty figure with a bushy tail. As its name implies, this set features a triple-decker couch that can be rebuilt into Emmet’s couch mech. This couch mech has posable arms, legs and feet, a spinning gear wheel “hand,” gripping claw, adjustable ladder wings, and a top-deck minifigure seat with mug elements that serve as driving controls.
Meanwhile, Queen Watevra’s “So-Not-Evil” Space Palace construction set boasts 9 characters from the movie. In addition to Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi herself, this 995-piece set also includes a Bachelor Batman minifigure, Celeste mini-doll figure, Ice Cream Cone, 2 Star figures, and 2 Heart and Royal Guard brick-built figures. The space palace included in the set is a multi-level building that features a rotating top section with an opening pod and a detachable rocket for the queen. The majestic palace also has detachable opening pods for other characters, 2 balconies, security room, dining room, and a DJ booth.
Completing the list of new building sets is the 691-piece Shimmer & Shine Sparkle Spa!, which features an arched entrance, buildable loudspeakers, hot tub with an opening lid and trapdoor function, buildable sink, 2 removable tables, 6 brick-built potion bottles, and a lever-operated revolving wall for Balthazar to “transform” into a vampire bat. Joining the set’s Balthazar mini-doll figure are Benny and Washed-out Wyldstyle minifigures, brick-built LEGO Unikitty as CalmDown Kitty, Flaminga, Eight, Archimedes, and Balthazar vampire bat toy figures.
All these sets will be available this spring. Emmet’s Triple-Decker Couch Mech will retail for $29.99, Queen Watevra’s “So-Not-Evil” Space Palace for $99.99, and Shimmer & Shine Sparkle Spa! for $69.99.
Directed by Mike Mitchell, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part stars Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, and more.
