Ever wondered what Disney Princesses would look like in real life according to artificial intelligence (AI)? Well, wonder no more, as a recent TikTok video has gone viral for using AI on some of the most popular animated Disney Princesses to imagine their live-action counterparts.
The TikTok video, which you can see below, was uploaded by Tony Aubé, a Silicon Valley designer who previously worked at Google AI. The 20-second clip shows images of Frozen’s Elsa, Aladdin’s Jasmine, The Little Mermaid’s Ariel, and the titular Moana against their respective digitally reimagined AI designs, which Aubé was able to make with the help of video reenactment technology. Though not a Disney character, the video also featured an AI reimagining of Princess Fiona from the DreamWorks franchise, Shrek.

As of writing, the video has already earned more than 1.3 million likes and over 16,000 comments. It has also been shared more than 14,200 times on different social media platforms. And because of the uncanny resemblance of the AI versions to their original animated characters, a lot of fans in the comments section are asking Aubé to reimagine the rest of the Disney Princesses, including Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Merida.
Other fans are also requesting AI versions of the characters from recently released animated Disney films like Raya and the Last Dragon and Turning Red. In response to a fan asking for an AI reimagining of the characters from the latter movie, Aubé wrote, “Trying to get a Disney sponsorship for that one.”
Though Disney has been adapting its animated Disney Princess movies into live-action, the use of AI technology to imagine what these characters would look like in real life remains fascinating to many as AI technology continues to reach greater heights.
What are the upcoming live-action movies based on Disney Princesses?
Disney currently has two upcoming live-action Disney Princess movies: an adaptation of Snow White, starring Rachel Zegler, and The Little Mermaid, starring Halle Bailey. Snow White doesn’t have a release date yet, but The Little Mermaid is currently set to open in U.S. theaters on May 26th, 2023.
