Raya of the 2021 animated Disney movie Raya and the Last Dragon has been added to the official Disney Princess lineup.
Raya made her official debut as a Disney Princess during the ongoing World Princess Week at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, and Disneyland Paris, which kicked off last August 21st and will conclude on August 27th.
World Princess Week is part of Ultimate Princess Celebration, a global extravaganza across The Walt Disney Company that highlights the impact of Disney Princesses and the courage and kindness they inspire in fans all around the world.
Though Disney did not announce any sort of ceremony like Merida got for Raya, it was reported that Raya Magic Shot would be available at Disneyland Paris.
Raya made her Disney Parks debut at Shanghai Disneyland last September. While it’s not clear if Raya will come to Disneyland or Walt Disney World now that she’s crowned as an official Disney Princess, many fans speculate that she’s headed to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Disney’s decision to include Raya in the Disney Princess lineup has been well received by fans, especially those who have been calling for more Southeast Asian representation in pop culture.
