Meet Parmesan, the viral cat that looks like Baby Yoda 1

Baby Yoda continues to win the hearts of Star Wars fans and non-fans alike one month after his debut appearance in the first episode of The Mandalorian. Now, a cat that looks just like him is starting to do the same.

On Sunday, Bela Meza shared a picture of her boyfriend’s cat on Twitter with the caption, “my boyfriend said ‘oh my god my cat looks like baby yoda’ and I look over, and sure enough.”

The cat, who goes by name Parmesan, has well-proportioned, pointed ears like Baby Yoda, and since she’s hiding behind a brown towel in the photo, the feline looks as if she’s wearing the Star Wars character’s cute little robe.

“Her ears are always pointing to the side when she’s in hunting mode, which is often. She loves to play,” Meza said of Parmesan.

Meza and his boyfriend Matt Mele were playing Nintendo Switch when they noticed that Parmesan has resemblance with Baby Yoda. “I looked at her and busted out laughing and took a picture as quick as I could,” Meza recalled. Parmesan has been with Mele since July. He got her from a friend that had a litter of kittens that needed homes.

As of writing, Parmesan’s photo has already garnered more than 360,000 likes and has been retweeted over 67,000 times.

Soon after the picture went viral, many cat owners also took to Twitter to show off their cats that also look like Baby Yoda, and other Star Wars characters like Jabba and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Meza and Mele have yet to watch The Mandalorian, but like many people on the Internet, both of them fell in love with Baby Yoda with all the memes celebrating him.

The eight-episode freshman run of The Mandalorian will conclude on December 27th, so people who want to watch the web series still have enough time to catch up before the season finale.

A new episode of The Mandalorian arrives on Disney+ every Friday.
