While wearing face mask helps slow the spread of COVID-19, the practice itself hides our facial expressions, including our precious smiles that can make a huge difference during these trying times. Good thing face mask designs are getting more and more creative these days, with many of them perfectly matching our mood for the day. For instance, if you’re feeling happy and optimistic, this Super Mario face mask can help you share that positivity with the rest of the world even without showing your full face in public.
Though not an officially licensed Super Mario merchandise item, this non-medical face mask features an adorable sublimation print of a smiling face bearing a strong resemblance to Nintendo’s titular mustache-wearing character. Made from soft 95% polyester/5% spandex fabric, this two-layered washable face covering comes with over-ear elastic straps for a snug fit over the mouth and nose. This cute face mask is currently selling for $12.49 at Redbubble and is available in small and regular sizes.
Speaking of Super Mario and Nintendo, Universal Studios Japan has recently delayed the opening of Super Nintendo World, the new Mario-themed expansion of its Osaka amusement park. Super Nintendo World was originally scheduled to open last month ahead of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, but since the international sporting event was pushed back to 2021 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Universal has also decided to postpone the opening of the highly anticipated video-game-themed area. A new opening date has yet to be announced.
