The next James Bond film won’t be coming out anytime soon, as producers of the hit spy franchise are taking their time coming up with a solid plan on how they’re going to start a new era of 007 movies.

When will the next James Bond film come out?

The next James Bond movie doesn’t have a release date yet, but producer Barbara Broccoli recently told Deadline that the next installment of the movie series will begin filming “at least two years” from now.

Who is the next James Bond?

Though it’s been nine months since No Time to Die – the fifth and final James Bond film starring Daniel Craig – hit the theaters, Broccoli revealed that the task of finding Craig’s successor hasn’t started yet.

“Nobody’s in the running,” the producer said. “We’re working out where to go with him, we’re talking that through. There isn’t a script and we can’t come up with one until we decide how we’re going to approach the next film because, really, it’s a reinvention of Bond. We’re reinventing who he is and that takes time. I’d say that filming is at least two years away.”

Is the next James Bond female?

While there have been calls for a female James Bond in the past couple of years, Broccoli made it clear that the next James Bond will still be male.

In an interview with Variety in 2020, Broccoli said that changing the gender of cinema’s most beloved spy would be a disservice to women. “He can be of any color, but he is male,” said Broccoli, who is the daughter of the original 007 producer Albert R. Broccoli. “I believe we should be creating new characters for women — strong female characters. “I’m not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that.”

What are the qualities a James Bond actor should possess?

While the official hunt for the next James Bond has yet to begin, fans have started to hype up their personal picks ever since it was announced that Craig is vacating the role. The most popular fan picks for the next James Bond include Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hardy, and Tom Holland.

There are also some actors who let the whole world know that they are open to playing James Bond. One of those is Ryan Reynolds.

In an interview with The Times of London last year, Reynolds, who is best known for his role as Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, shared that if the producers of the film series can accept a Canadian actor like himself for the part, then he would happily consider stepping into the agent’s shoes.“I hear they’re looking for a new Bond. Could you accept a Canadian sipping gin and tonic instead of a martini? If so, I’m interested,” Reynolds said.

But the search for the next Agent 007 is not simply a popularity contest. Last September, Debbie McWilliams, long-time casting director for the spy franchise, revealed some of the qualities a James Bond actor should possess.

“It’s somebody who can hold their own, who is attractive, physical, capable of taking on not just the part but all the razzmatazz that goes with it,” McWilliams told Entertainment Weekly of what kind of actor they’re trying to cast for the role of James Bond. “It’s quite a tall order, and it can live on with somebody for long after they’ve played the part, although I think it’s not so defining now as it used to be.”

Who are the actors who played James Bond?

Prior to Craig, James Bond was previously played on the big screen by Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Barry Nelson, and Pierce Brosnan.
