Sony has announced that it will soon be bringing its next-generation VR system to the PlayStation 5. Improving upon its current VR technology, the new next-gen system provides improvements across a number of aspects from its resolution, to its field of view, tracking, and more.
In a recent blog post, the company expressed why they’re most excited about the new VR controller. To that effect, the new design focuses on “great ergonomics” to provide players with a more comfortable VR experience. It will also adopt some key features found on the DualSense wireless controller but it wasn’t clear on which will be brought to the new VR controller. Sony does assure that it will have “future-proof technology” to support its long-term plans for VR games and experiences.
Connecting the VR headset will also be much simpler by using a single cable to connect to the PS5. This doesn’t degrade quality in any way and is still able to provide a “high-fidelity visual experience.”
But it seems players will have to wait a little bit longer as the company isn’t planning on releasing this new VR system this year. That’s probably good news, though, since most folks are still having a hard time finding a PlayStation 5 unit in stock.
While the PS5 stock is not readily available in most stores, there are ways you can get your hands on an in-stock PS5.
