Two of Jean-Luc Picard’s (Patrick Stewart) longtime allies are making a very special appearance in this week’s episode of Star Trek: Picard.

Based on the recently released first-look photos for the installment, Stewart’s The Next Generation co-stars Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis are reprising their roles as William Riker and Deanna Troi, respectively.  The husband and wife are living in Nepenthe, the planet Picard and Soji Asha (Isa Briones) traveled to using the spatial trajector in the queencell of The Artifact at the end of the last episode.

Since Riker and Troi were two of Picard’s best advisors during his time as the captain of the Enterprise, it is expected that Picard is going to ask for the couple’s help on how he and his new crew could keep Soji safe until the end.

Meanwhile, as Picard and Soji try to make sense of her recently unlock memories, Cristobal Rios (Santiago Cabrera), Raffi Musiker (Michell Hurd), and Agnes Jurati (Alison Pill) attempt to join them in Nepenthe, which, as mentioned last episode, is located within a range of forty thousand light-years from The Artifact.

Elsewhere in the episode, Hugh (Jonathan Del Arco) and Elnor (Evan Evagora) are left on the Borg cube and must face an angered Narissa (Peyton List). There’s no mention of Narek (Harry Treadaway) in the synopsis for the upcoming episode, but he was last seen locking Soji in a chamber and attempting to poison her using his Rubix cube-like toy in episode 6.

Written by Samantha Humphrey and Michael Chabon, and directed by Doug Aarniokoski, Star Trek: Picard episode 7, titled Nepenthe, arrives on CBS All Access on Thursday, March 5th.
