The highly anticipated season 5 debut of Rick and Morty is just a few days away, and to ramp up the excitement surrounding the return of the beloved sci-fi sitcom, Adult Swim has organized the Global Rick and Morty Day, which is described as a “mind-bending event” that will kick off the premiere of the hit animated series on June 20th.

As part of the Global Rick and Morty Day festivities, Adult Swim, for the first time ever, will premiere the first episode of Rick and Morty season 5 from space by launching Rick’s Space Cruiser 150,000 ft into the atmosphere.

Fans from around the world can become part of the historic series premiere by creating a personalized Rick and Morty avatar on GoRickYourself.com. According to a promo video for the Global Rick and Morty Day, fans may see their avatar on air or their houses from space during the show’s season 5 premiere. Fans in the U.S. and Mexico can also create custom t-shirts on GoRickYourself.com to commemorate the new season.

Prior to the Global Rick and Morty Day, fans can also catch up on all things Rick and Morty by checking out HBO Max’s curated Rick and Morty fan viewing experience featuring previous seasons, extras, and creator-selected episodes available starting June 14th.

Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, Rick and Morty follows sociopathic genius scientist Rick Sanchez who drags his inherently timid grandson Morty on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. Aside from Morty, Rick is also constantly bringing his daughter Beth, his son-in-law Jerry, and granddaughter Summer into intergalactic escapades.

Featuring the voices of Roiland, Sarah Chalke, Chris Parnell, and Spencer Grammer, the 10-episode Rick and Morty season 5 will premiere on June 20th at 11 p.m. ET on Adult Swim.
