Leon Bridges and Wrangler have taken their collaboration to the next level with the launch of the Leon Bridges x Wrangler Collection.

Dropped on Wednesday, the collection is part of the 75th-anniversary celebration of the clothing company. A nod to silhouettes from the brand’s iconic archives and the Grammy-winning singer’s soulful style, the 29-piece apparel lineup features a variety of denim and non-denim items for both men and women, including jeans, skirts, jackets, vests, t-shirts, and more.

Bridges’ personal touches, including his initials “LB,” can be found in the intricate details across all the pieces in the assortment. Signature features such as an embroidered sleeve monogram, LB printed pocketing, matte gold finished hardware, logoed snaps, and rivets are also incorporated into each item in the collection. The denim staples in the lineup are also given a modern flair through fresh graphics, powerful prints, custom laser designs, and exclusive embroideries that unite classic denim and expressive sound.

Pulling inspiration from urban and contemporary music culture, Bridges, while on tour, worked closely with the brand’s design team to creatively direct and curate the collection. Check out some of the standout pieces from the collection in the video and photos below:

The collaboration between Bridges and Wrangler started when the latter designed a rare denim suit for the singer, which was unveiled in August 2021. After that, the two worked together on an NFT collection, launched last February.

Though Bridges’ business relationship with the clothing brand started just a year ago, Wrangler has been part of his music career since the beginning. The recording artist was actually first discovered through his fondness for the iconic brand. Years ago, he started a conversation with another local musician in a bar in Fort Worth, Texas after the latter noticed his pair of vintage Wranglers. Bridges was then invited to record a track in a studio, where he cut the soulful swing ballad, Coming Home.

“Wrangler will always mean something to me. My music journey began while wearing vintage Wrangler, so I am excited to be able to collaborate with them on this exclusive collection,” said Bridges in a press release, announcing the Leon Bridges x Wrangler Collection. “Working with the brand’s design team in Greensboro, N.C., I was able to walk through the brand’s archives and select original silhouettes. Our meetings continued in my hometown of Ft. Worth, TX, where we chose trims and final patterns and I was able to give feedback on the early garment prototypes.”

Bridges continued, “It was an amazing experience for me to play such an active role in the creative process from start to finish. Telling the story of my authentic ties and heartfelt passion for Wrangler, this collection is meant to nurture individuality and spontaneity for the trailblazers of today.”

For the apparel brand’s part, Vivian Rivetti, the company’s global VP of design, said: “We are inspired by Leon’s own career-starting discovery, which directly influenced this collection along with his love of our authentic brand heritage Working side by side with Leon, we infused his passion for our vintage pieces with his personal style and were able to create a legendary collection that tells the story of our shared history. We are honored to be a part of Leon’s start and continued journey as an artist.”
