Krysten Ritter will reportedly reprise her role as Jessica Jones in Captain Marvel 2.
Sources told We Got This Covered that the head of Alias Investigation will show up alongside a number of other Marvel heroes in the sequel to the 2019 Brie Larson-led movie. The follow-up film is said to be pitched internally as a smaller version of Captain America: Civil War, involving several Marvel Cinematic Universe characters, presumably in some kind of large-scale battle against the Skrulls.
According to the insiders, Jones’ fellow Defender Daredevil (Charlie Cox) is also set to appear in the sequel, but both characters are only expected to play minor roles or even cameos for the purpose of just reminding fans that they are back to the fold after their respective series were canceled by Netflix.
Since the report of Jones’ impending appearance in Captain Marvel 2 came from the same sources that revealed the development of a She-Hulk series for Disney+ earlier this year, there’s a great possibility that the news could be true.
But because Marvel has yet to set an exact release date for Captain Marvel 2, things can always change as development progress. And even though Larson has already been back in training for the sequel, it isn’t expected to open in theaters until 2023.
In addition to the potential appearance of Jones and Daredevil in Captain Marvel 2, it was also previously reported that the sequel will introduce the gay character of Hulkling. Despite his name being closely similar to Hulk’s, Hulkling is not related to Bruce Banner by blood. He’s not exposed to high levels of gamma radiation like the renowned scientist, but instead, a heroic Skrull teenager.
