Häagen-Dazs is expanding its product offering with seven new alcohol-infused ice cream treats.
Officially called The Spirits Collection, this selection of frozen desserts includes five boozy flavors: Irish Cream Brownie, Rum Tres Leches, Bourbon Vanilla Bean Truffle, Stout Chocolate Pretzel Crunch, and Bourbon Praline Pecan. A nondairy option, Amaretto Black Cherry Almond Toffee, and a new cookie square, Irish Cream Cookie Squares, are also part of the lineup.
“The Häagen-Dazs brand is built on a passion for transforming the finest ingredients into extraordinary ice cream experiences,” said Rachel Jaiven, Häagen-Dazs Brand Manager, in a statement announcing the new products. “The Spirits Collection was expertly crafted to offer new, extraordinary ways to indulge. Each flavor is perfect to pair with your favorite cocktail, elevate a boozy float or simply enjoy on its own.”
Among all the new ice cream treats, Jaiven expects the Irish Cream Brownie to be one of the most sought-after flavor. “It was one of the most popular bring-back requests from our consumers,” she said, describing the new product as an adult version of brownies a la mode. “It’s a nod (to the old version), but we’ve also enhanced it.”
Each product in the collection contains 0.5 percent alcohol per volume, which is the same amount found in a non-alcoholic beer. “[So] you can indulge freely without any concerns,” Jaiven added.
The Spirits Collection, which has already started to hit store shelves, will be widely available across the country by April. But starting March 1st, the Irish Cream Brownie and the Vanilla Bean Bourbon Truffle will be available at Häagen-Dazs Shops nationwide and served in cups, cones, sundaes, or milkshakes. The 14-ounce pints, as well as the cookie squares, have a suggested retail price of $5.29.
This isn’t the first time Häagen-Dazs has fused alcohol and ice cream together. The brand previously released flavors such as Rum Vanilla Caramel Blondie and Whiskey Chocolate Truffle in Canada.
