The first officially licensed fan convention commemorating HBO’s world-renowned series Game of Thrones is coming early next year.
Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment and Creation Entertainment announced on Thursday that the inaugural Game of Thrones Official Fan Convention will take place at the Rio Hotel & Suites Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada from February 18th to 20th of 2022.
The three-day event will feature special guests, panel discussions, autograph signing sessions, photo opportunities, as well as cosplay and trivia competitions. Exclusive Game of Thrones merchandise will be available for purchase on location. The full convention schedule, ticket pricing, and on-sale dates will be announced in the coming months.
“Game of Thrones is a cultural phenomenon with an incredible fanbase, and we are thrilled to be celebrating both with the first official Game of Thrones fan convention,” said Peter van Roden, Senior Vice President of Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment, in a statement. “This is an exciting initiative, growing one of our beloved global franchises and allowing fans to become even more immersed in the world of Westeros and beyond. This will be a truly unforgettable experience that loyal and new fans alike will love and enjoy.”

The Game of Thrones Official Fan Convention announcement comes in anticipation of the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series House of Dragon. Based on the 2018 book Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin, House of Dragon tells the story of House Targaryen 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

House of Dragon is currently in production and is set to premiere on HBO and HBO Max in 2022.
