Stephen Amell has no plans to come back to the Arrowverse 1

Deaths in The CW’s Arrowverse are hardly ever permanent. Ever since Arrow launched and birthed the shared universe, several Arrowverse characters that died have returned in different ways. Some literally came back from the dead through magic or spells; others returned as doppelgangers from other Earths; and there were those who came back following reality-bending cosmic events like the infamous Crisis on Infinite Earths. While these returns have established that demise in the Arrowverse can somehow be reverted, Arrow star Stephen Amell said that fans won’t see his character, Oliver Queen, appear in any Arrowverse shows following his death earlier this year.

During an Instagram chat on Tuesday, Amell was asked if he would ever appear in any of the ongoing Arrowverse series, and his answer was something that might have disappointed some fans. “No, I’m done,” the actor said. “That was good. It was a good eight years but it was time to be done.”

Amell, who played the Green Arrow for eight seasons from 2012 to 2020, went on to share that he felt odd after seeing promos for the remaining Arrowverse shows while watching Monday night’s Roswell, New Mexico Season 2 premiere. “It was weird seeing promos for Supergirl and Flash and Batwoman again,” he said. “It seems like a different lifetime. I don’t think I’ll be doing that again.”

Fans can expect to get more Arrowverse-related insights from Amell in the coming days, as he previously announced that he will be live on Instagram every single day at 2 p.m. ET “just to chat” for the foreseeable future amid the coronavirus pandemic.

While Amell have officially retired as the Green Arrow, fans can catch the actor in his upcoming series Heels.  The eight-episode wrestling drama from Starz will follow family-owned wrestling promotion Duffy Wrestling Association (DWA) as two brothers and rivals war over their late father’s legacy. Heels has no release date yet.
