Following the successful release of the LEGO x Adidas ZX8000 sneaker last September, LEGO and Adidas have again teamed up for a new shoe collab that will surely delight LEGO builders and sneakerheads alike.
Officially known as the Adidas Ultraboost DNA x LEGO Plates, the latest collab between the footwear brand and the toy company has a more subtle look compared to the brightly colored LEGO x Adidas ZX8000. Featuring an understated color scheme, the new sneaker has white Primeknit upper and midsole foam, which are accented with metallic silver toe guard, heel counter, and side stripes.
Atop the aforementioned stripes is a translucent lace cage that allows wearers to slot actual LEGO plates in. The sneaker comes with 144 2×2 LEGO plates of various colors, which wearers can mix and match to achieve their desired combination.
The sneaker’s toebox and yellow insole are also designed with brick-style detailing, creating an illusion that LEGO blocks can be affixed to them. Below is the official description of the sneaker:
“If you can dream it, you can build it. Just look at Adidas Ultraboost shoes. They changed the game in 2015 with their responsive Boost midsole, foot-hugging Adidas Primeknit upper and striking style and continue to drive running technology today. This pair features LEGO brick 3-Stripes to celebrate all the builders, dreamers and risk-takers who are changing the game in their own way. Step in and dream big on the pavement. Your best run ever starts with that first step.”
Priced at $200 a pair, the Adidas Ultraboost DNA x Lego Plates will be available to purchase at adidas.com starting at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, April 8th.
LEGO and Adidas announced a long-term partnership last October, so fans can expect more collaboration between the two brands in the coming months.
