Looks like the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise just got an all-new manga series.
Adapting the title, Yu-Gi-Oh OCG Stories, the latest manga in the franchise will further explore the world of Duel Monsters featuring the legendary female dualist ‘Sky Striker Ace’ as the lead.
The manga was released on April 21st, making its first appearance in the June issue of Shueisha‘s V Jump magazine.
What is the latest Yu-Gi-Oh! manga all about?
Interestingly, Yu-Gi-Oh OCG Stories is related to OGC (Official Card Game) character, Sky Striker Ace – Raye but this time, we get to witness her story in manga form. The story follows the sword-wielding duelist’s fight to protect her family.
Popular screenwriter, Shin Yoshida who has previously written several episodes for the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime including the Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters (series composer) is the head writer of the manga.
Shin Yoshida is also responsible for contributing to big titles such as Naruto: Shippuden, Big O, Zone of the Enders, Witch Hunter Robin, and more. In regards to drawing, Yugo-Oh! character designer Naohito Miyoshi is at the helm.
The latest ongoing Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series, Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush, which has its characters fighting against extraterrestrials and supernatural beings, premiered in Japan this month but there’s no word yet on whether Yu-Gi-Oh OCG Stories will be getting its own adaptation any time soon.
