Microsoft releases Xbox One S Fortnite bundle 1

Fortnite Season 6 has just begun – and Microsoft has teamed up with Epic Games on a special offer to commemorate the event. On September 25th, the Seattle-based tech company announced an all-new Xbox One S Fortnite bundle that ships with exclusive in-game content and free Xbox Live / Game Pass for a month.

The $299 bundle, which is available through Best Buy and Microsoft Store, also comes with a 1TB HD, wireless controller, 2,000 V-Bucks, and a downloadable copy of Fortnite Battle Royale. However, it’s the rare, Xbox first in-game content that has everyone talking. According to Microsoft, in addition to the game, players get access to the full Eon cosmetic set, which consists of the “Legendary Eon Character Outfit, Epic Aurora Glider, and Rare Resonator Pickaxe.”

So far, reviews are mixed. Some say the new skin looks like what you’d get if Microsoft turned an Xbox controller into a game character. Other, more generous critics see the skin as a sort of Halo-inspired creation.

Character criticism aside, Xbox One’s Fortnite experience is unique in that it allows cross-platform play, meaning you can go against Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android gamers. This is in stark contrast to the PS4, which is limited to Sony’s network.

According to the official listing on Best Buy’s website, the Xbox One S Fortnite bundle is set to launch on the 8th of this month.

Interestingly, Microsoft is just the latest tech giant to team up with the Fortnite creators on an exclusive offer. In August we reported on Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9, a device that also enticed buyers by offering rare in-game content.
