Microsoft’s next major update may allow anyone with Windows 10 to play Xbox One titles.
According to Tech Radar, a Twitter user called ‘WalkingCat’ has discovered new drivers that will allow the Windows 10 April 2019 Update to download and play Xbox One games.
Previously, developers who wanted cross-platform titles had to port the game from one system to the other. If the reports are true, the upcoming update will allow Xbox One developers to simply make one version for both Xbox and PC.
Interestingly, this news comes shortly after we reported that both next-generation systems from Sony and Microsoft will be fully backward compatible.
While the Windows 10 update appears to pertain to Xbox One titles only, perhaps 360 and original games will follow behind shortly.
