As part of the celebration of this year’s 30th anniversary of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, series star Will Smith has teamed up with Airbnb to rent out a wing of the iconic Banks family’s mansion from the beloved NBC sitcom for $30 a night.
Los Angeles County residents can request to book Will’s wing of the mansion starting September 29th at 11 a.m. Pacific time via the Airbnb listing created by Will himself. However, only five groups of two will have the chance to get a one-night stay at the popular TV home, which will be available to fans on October 2nd, 5th, 8th, 11th, and 14th.
During their one-night stay, guests will get to enjoy Will’s wing of the mansion, which includes his bedroom, a full bathroom, a pool area, an outdoor lounge, and the dining room. While guests will not have access to a kitchen, “all meals will be provided and served on silver platters,” according to the listing.
And since we’re still in a pandemic, there’s a set of coronavirus-specific rules that guests should follow. “Following CDC guidelines, guests must wear a mask at check-in and check-out. While the city of Los Angeles is allowing travel, out of an abundance of caution, all guests who request to book must be Los Angeles County residents and currently live in the same household to minimize COVID-19 risk,” says the listing. “All guests must confirm they have not traveled outside of California within the past 14 days, have not had recent exposure to people known to be diagnosed with COVID-19, and do not have a fever of 100.4F or more, cough or shortness of breath.” They are also required to present a negative COVID test dated within 72 hours of arrival.
Will also assured guests that the wing will be cleaned prior to their arrival in accordance with Airbnb’s Enhanced Cleaning Protocol, which is informed by guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And while Will or any of the Banks family won’t be there to personally welcome the guests, they will be greeted by the family’s socially-distanced mansion concierge, who will attest to the same indicators of health mentioned above.
Last week, Will took to Instagram to post a couple of behind-the-scenes photos from the unscripted 30th-anniversary reunion special of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which will be released on HBO Max around Thanksgiving Day. As seen in the first picture, Will is reunited with his co-stars Daphne Maxwell Reid (Aunt Viv), Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton), Karyn Parsons (Hilary), Tatyana Ali (Ashley), Joseph Marcell (butler Geoffrey) and DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz) in a set that looked like the Banks family’s iconic living room.
Also last week, Will announced that Bel-Air, a serialized one-hour dramatic reinterpretation of the ‘90s sitcom, got an initial two-season order at Peacock.
