Japanese apparel maker Original Stitch is releasing a collection of Pokémon dress shirts inspired by the original 151 Pokémon that were first introduced in the Nintendo Game Boy games Pokémon Red and Blue.
Created in collaboration with The Pokémon Company, this new line of dress shirts are especially made for businessmen and women who remain to be huge fans of the Japanese media franchise. These dress shirts are designed to look formal from afar, but a closer look reveals that they are adorned with fun Pokemon-themed patterns.
The complete collection of designs will be revealed in February, but Original Stitch and The Pokémon Company have previewed the selection by unveiling some of the designs on the collection’s official Instagram account. Some of the Pokémon featured in the first batch of designs are Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Eevee, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Vulpix, and Slowpoke, just to name a few.
Available in men’s and ladies’ cuts, these Pokémon dress shirts can also be customized. Aside from having the pattern of your choice on the entirety of the shirt, you also have the option to only relegate it to specific parts of the shirt, such as the cuffs, pockets, and collar trim. You can also have the pattern inside of the cuffs, at the back of the collar, and at the back of the placket, for a more subtle effect.
Made from 100% cotton fabric, these dress shirts retail for ¥10,000 each, which is around $90. This lineup of office-appropriate geeky dress shirts will be available for online purchase worldwide starting late next month with a special website launching simultaneously with the complete collection.
