A collaborative effort between designers and artists at Mattel, Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, and DC, the new Supergirl Barbie Doll is inspired by the version of the Girl of Steel in the upcoming The Flash movie, starring Ezra Miller in the titular role.
Modeled after Supergirl actress Sasha Calle, the Supergirl Barbie Doll is ready for heroics with her iconic red and blue suit featuring the legendary S-Shield boldly displayed on her chest. About The Flash movie
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Christina Hodson, The Flash follows Barry Allen, a.k.a. The Flash (Ezra Miller), as he travels back in time to prevent his mother’s murder, which traps him in an alternate reality without metahumans. He enlists the help of his younger self, an older Batman (Michael Keaton), and the Kryptonian castaway Supergirl (Sasha Calle) in order to save this world from the restored General Zod (Michael Shannon) and return to his universe.
In the movie, Kara Zor-El arrived on Earth in search of a missing Kryptonian and faced many challenges before becoming the hero the world needs: Supergirl.
The cast of The Flash
In addition to Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Keaton, and Michael Shannon, The Flash movie also stars Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, and Antje Traue as Faora-Ul.
Ben Affleck also appears in the movie, as Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman, the original version of Wayne from Barry’s timeline and the leader of the Justice League. According to Muschietti, Affleck’s Wayne has a substantial emotional impact on the film through his relationship with Barry, in part because their mothers were both murdered.
Temuera Morrison, who plays Aquaman’s father Thomas Curry in 2018’s Aquaman and 2023’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, is also expected to show up in The Flash. Moreover, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso, and Luke Brandon Field have also been cast in undisclosed roles.
The Flash release date
The Flash is set to have its world premiere at CinemaCon on April 25th, before its release by Warner Bros. Pictures in the United States on June 16th.
