Paramount+ has dropped a new teaser for Star Trek: Picard season 3 at the San Diego Comic-Con, (SDCC) giving fans their first look at the show’s main cast for its final batch of episodes.
Released during the SDCC panel for the sci-fi franchise on Saturday, the minute-long teaser features returning Picard cast members Patrick Stewart as Jean Luc-Picard, Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine, and Michelle Hurd as Raffi Musiker. The trio is also joined by Stewart’s Star Trek: The Next Generation costars LeVar Burton as Geordi La Forge, Michael Dorn as Worf, Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi, Jonathan Frakes as William Riker, and Gates McFadden as Beverly Crusher.

The video shows quick glimpses at the characters in their iconic costumes, along with short yet profound voiceovers from each one of them. Notably absent from the teaser is Brent Spiner, who was announced as one of the cast members of Picard season 3 last April. It’s unclear why he’s not featured in the teaser, but his exclusion from the video suggests that he might only have a minor role in season 3 or the show is simply keeping his seemingly brand-new character under wraps.
In The Next Generation, Spiner played Data ― a role he reprised in Picard season 1. But aside from reprising Data in Picard, Spiner also portrayed Dr. Altan Inigo Soong and Adam Soong in the show’s first two seasons, so it won’t be surprising if the actor ended up playing another brand-new role in Picard season 3.
