The new Saved by the Bell theme song is out now and it’s as catchy as the original 1

The highly anticipated Saved by the Bell revival is premiering on Peacock next week, and to keep fans excited about the show’s debut, the streamer has dropped the new theme song remix for the series.

Released on Wednesday along with the revival’s new title sequence, the new version of the franchise’s theme song was performed by rapper Lil Yachty. “We were so excited to have Lil Yachty update the original Saved By the Bell theme song,” said executive producer Tracey Wigfield in a statement. “Besides being cool and catchy, his music has a great sense of humor, which I really appreciate. I was less excited when he said he wanted to do it because his mom was a big fan of the show because that made me feel 100 years old.”

In the sequel/revival, now California governor Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) finds himself in hot water after closing several low-income high schools. To remedy the situation, he orders the affected students to attend the most well-funded schools in the state, including Bayside High, giving the elite school’s privileged students a much-needed dose of reality.

Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley also reprise their characters of A.C. Slater and Jesse Spano, respectively. Slater is now a physical education teacher and coach at his alma mater, while Dr. Spano holds court as the school’s counselor. Tiffani Thiessen also returns as Kelly Kapowski, wife of Morris and mother to their son, Mac Morris (Mitchell Hoog). Lark Voorhies also comes back as Lisa Turtle, who now has a successful career in fashion.

In addition to franchise newcomer Hoog, also appearing as the new generation of students are Haskiri Velazquez, Josie Totah, Alycia Pascual-Pena, Belmont Cameli, and Dexter Darden. John Michael Higgins also stars as Principal Toddman, who took over the role from Mr. Richard Belding (Dennis Haskins).

The Saved by the Bell revival premieres on Wednesday, November 25th on Peacock.
