Co-created by Puma and Alexander John, these trendy shoes are inspired by the bright and colorful mixtape covers from the 90s

$150

The retro-looking sneakers come with RS tech on the midsole and a combination of textile and mesh on the upper. Completing its trendy appearance are leather and rubber overlays and the rubberized heel piece.

John’s mixtape theme for the shoes came about during a conversation with Roc Nation executive Emory Jones. Jones’ words of wisdom to John were: “Yo! Seek that track and sounds that provide the waves that move you to a higher frequency. There will always be a side A and B to every story. Eject all negativity and play the positive.”  And that became John’s mantra and inspiration while designing the sneakers.

Retailing for $150, the Puma x Alexander John RS-X Mixtape sneakers run in men’s sizes only. Women who wish to get one should order 1.5 sizes down from their usual size.

The RS-X Mixtape is the newest addition to Puma’s ever-growing collection of RS-X sneakers, which already includes lines like RS-X3 (Cubed), RS-X Reinvent, and RS-X Winterized, among many others.
