Frequent collaborators Pharrell Williams and Nigo have been friends for 16 years now, and to celebrate their long-lasting bond, the duo has partnered with Adidas for a new collection of shoes and slides.
Officially called Pharrell Williams x Nigo x Adidas Friendship Pack, this four-piece footwear line features two colorways of both the Tokio Solar Hu Shoes and the PW Boost Slides.
Inspired by Adidas’ archival Tokio silhouette, the Tokio Solar Hu Shoes feature Primeknit uppers, suede toe boxes, Three Stripes detailing, criss-cross motif at the heel, mudguard, and leather eyestays. Staying true to the friendship theme of the collection, the shoes have branded sock liners, Hu-branded heel tabs, and floral hang-tags.
One version of the Tokio Solar Hu Shoes boasts yellow uppers with hits of beige, white, navy, and orange. Balancing out the brightness of the uppers are beige midsoles and outsoles.
The other iteration of the shoes has light blue uppers with accents of navy, white, neon green, and beige. Jazzing up the sneakers’ overall look are the orange midsoles and bright blue outsoles.
The PW Boost Slides, meanwhile, feature adjustable padded straps, Boost midsoles, debossed graphic sock liners, and Hu logos. As a nod to Nigo’s roots, the slides are designed with Japanese embroidery that reads “you” on the left slide and “me” on the right slide.
The colorways of the PW Boost Slides are similar to those of the Tokio Solar Hu Shoes. One version boasts a mix of green tint, clay brown, and bold orange, while the other features a combination of cream, bold gold, and green tint hues. The latter iteration will only be sold in Japan.
Williams and Nigo’s Adidas Friendship Pack will be available to purchase on Adidas.com, Adidas Confirmed, and at select stores starting December 18th. The Tokio Solar Hu Shoes will retail for $180 a pair, while the PW Boost Slides will come with a $100 price tag.
