M&M’s Creepy Cocoa Crisp flavor hits the shelves months before Halloween

These sweet treats are now available at Target stores for $3.19 per bag.

M&M’s Creepy Cocoa Crisp

It may still be July, but Mars Wrigley has already released its new M&M’s flavor for this year’s much-anticipated Halloween.

Officially called Creepy Cocoa Crisp M&M’s, these sweet treats boast two thick layers of chocolate with a cocoa crisp center and a crunchy dark chocolate outer shell. True to its Halloween theme, these M&M’s only come in red, orange, and brown. The candies’ packaging also features Red the M&M dressed up in his Halloween costume looking like a self-approving vampire.

Retailing for $3.19 per bag, Creepy Cocoa Crisp M&M’s are now available exclusively at a number of Target stores across the country. Though Creepy Cocoa Crisp M&M’s were released three months ahead of Halloween, these M&M’s won’t be a permanent flavor. As a matter of fact, it will only be available for a few months until the end of fall.

Instagrammer Munchie Bunchie spotted the new flavor at a Target in Los Angeles on July 14th. Then a week and a half later, on July 24th, identical twins Marcus and Matthew — who both manage the Instagram account @mnmtwinz — also saw the spooky treats at a Target in College Point, New York.

As for the taste of the new flavor, Marcus and Matthew wrote that the “dark chocolate is rich and a little bitter as dark chocolate should be.” Additionally, the siblings described the crispy cocoa center “satisfying” and pointed out that the Creepy Cocoa Crisp M&M’s “easily [beat] many M&M’s flavors out right now.”

While some Target stores are now selling Creepy Cocoa Crisp M&M’s, Marcus and Matthew noted that some Target locations won’t probably offer the chocolaty snacks until after the Back to School season ends.
