Will there be a Loki season 2?
Yes. A second season of the Tom Hiddleston-led series was first confirmed through a mid-credits scene in the show’s first season finale, which was released on the Disney-owned streaming service back in July 2021.
When does Loki season 2 come out?
The sophomore run of the series doesn’t have an exact release date yet. But Marvel Studios announced during its San Diego Comic-Con panel in July 2022 that the show’s new batch of episodes will kick off on Disney+ in the summer of 2023.
Principal photography for the new season began in June 2022 at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom.
Is Loki season 2 Phase 5?
Marvel confirmed at SDCC that Loki season 2 is part of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which will open with the theatrical release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on February 17th, 2023.
Other films included in Phase 5 of the MCU are Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Marvels, and Thunderbolts. Also included in Phase 5 of the mega-hit franchise are the TV series Secret Invasion, Ironheart, and Daredevil: Born Again, and many others.

Just like its first season, season 2 of the series also has six episodes.
What will happen in Loki season 2?
Plot details on the show’s second season are being kept under wraps. However, executive producer Michael Waldron previously said that the sophomore run would continue the story of the first season but in a way that felt different, subverted expectations, and explored “new emotional ground” for the titular character.
“In creating the show in the first place, the only way it’s worth doing to me is that we can find a new story to tell with this character. It felt like we had new emotional ground to cover with Loki,” Waldron told Deadline in May 2022. “That’s the only way into season 2. We absolutely found that. It’s a great continuation of that story that feels different from season one and hopefully will subvert expectations.”

In addition to Hiddleston who is reprising his role as Loki, the show’s sophomore run will also bring back Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Eugene Cordero as Casey / Hunter K-5E, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, and Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie.
In July, Blindspotting actor Rafael Casal was revealed to be cast in an undisclosed “major role” in the upcoming season.
