USA Today is reporting that Jordan Peele will host and produce CBS’ upcoming Twilight Zone reboot.
The reboot, which will debut on CBS’ All Access SVOD service was first announced last November. The original show ran from 1959 to 1964 and is well known for its enigmatic approach to social issues of the day.
Undoubtedly a cult classic, many say the legendary TV show is responsible for much of the sci-fi and horror iconography present in today’s movies and TV series. In recent years, we’ve witnessed various SVOD platforms introduce series that echo the show’s themes. For example, Netflix’s Black Mirror and Amazon Video’s Electric Dream are often compared to The Twilight Zone in terms of their level of creativity and deep plot twists.
While we can’t yet report on an official launch date, we know Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films will also be producing the upcoming reboot in association with CBS and Peele.
