The end is near! Today, Epic Games announced that Chapter 2, Season 2 of Fortnite will begin on February 20th.
The rollout to the highly anticipated launch is packed with events, such as the 11.50 update which is expected to arrive sometime in early February. Epic says 11.50 will change the game over to Unreal Engine’s Chaos physics system. While the company has been mum regarding specifics, they have warned players to expect “some bumps” as they iron on the kinks in the new system.
Additionally, Fortniters can look forward to new Overtime Challenges and a “new two-week event.” At present, it’s unclear whether this event is tied to the Harley Quinn Birds of Prey crossover expected to debut on February 7th.
Coming in at over 100 days and counting, Chapter 2 – Season 1 has been the longest-running season to date. Gamers might remember that S1 began with millions of players staring into the depths of a mysterious black hole. It’ll be interesting to see what tricks Epic pulls out to introduce Season 2.
