Launched in March 2017, Dr. Stone follows teenage scientific genius Senku Ishigami, who plans to rebuild civilization after humanity was mysteriously petrified for 3,700 years. Chapters from the past month outed a number of secret identities and waged one last mission to save humanity. At the end of chapter 232, Senku Ishigami and his fellow heroes came to terms with their adventure, giving fans a satisfying and emotional conclusion.

Dr. Stone anime series

Though the manga is over, the anime adaptation of Dr. Stone is far from over. Debuted in 2019, the first season of the Dr. Stone anime series ran for 24 episodes. It was followed by an 11-episode sophomore run that was released last year. A third season was confirmed at the Jump Festa 2022 event for a 2023 release.

But prior to the anime’s season 3, a television special titled Dr. Stone: Ryusui, which focuses on the character Ryusui Nanami, is scheduled to premiere in July 2022. Interestingly, according to a tweet by Shonen Jump News – Unofficial, the anime special will be accompanied by a bonus manga chapter that will be out on Weekly Shonen Jump.

The bonus manga chapter has yet to be officially confirmed, so it has no exact release date yet.
