Disney’s The Little Mermaid is getting her own perfume

The fragrance is part of DefineMe’s Disney Princess Perfumes collection and will officially debut at BeautyCon on August 10th.

Disney x DefineMe Princess Ariel perfume

Disney has teamed up with indie beauty brand DefineMe to create a collection of perfumes based on Disney Princesses. And in celebration of the 30th anniversary of The Little Mermaid this year, the first fragrance to be released is that of Princess Ariel.

According to DefineMe, the scent of the perfume is inspired by Princess Ariel’s natural sense of adventure and curiosity. The top notes include a splash of citrusy neroli and bergamot; the middle note is a sweet floral scent that includes jasmine and lilac; and the base note is a blend of tonka bean, coconut, and driftwood. Like all DefineMe fragrances, the Princess Ariel perfume is also cruelty-free and 100 percent vegan.

It will be available in two sizes: a 75ml bottle and a 9ml travel-size bottle. The design of the larger bottle takes inspiration from Princess Ariel’s mermaid look, with her tail and scales covering the turquoise container. The name “Ariel” is also etched at the center top of the bottle, which is capped off with a pearl-colored iridescent seashell ornament.

The smaller travel-size bottle, on the other hand, has a much simpler look — just a turquoise mini tube with a pearl spray top. The 75ml bottle will retail for $88 while the 9ml bottle will sell for $28.

The Princess Ariel perfume will make its official debut at BeautyCon in Los Angeles on August 10th. It will then be available at DefineMe, Ulta.com, and ShopDisney.com, and in participating Disney stores beginning in the fall of this year.

But if you purchase it right from the DefineMe website, the brand will give $1 for every bottle bought to She’s the First, a non-profit that provides scholarships to girls in low-income countries.
