Disney has unveiled the second doll from its Ultimate Princess Celebration Collection.
The collection’s latest addition is a glamorous Pocahontas doll created by apparel designer Javier Garcia. Inspired by the 1995 Disney animated film Pocahontas and Garcia’s connection to nature, the Disney Designer Collection Pocahontas Limited Edition Doll captures the character’s daring look and features a stunning gown complete with dramatic accessories.
Born in Mexico, Garcia remembers taking family trips to the U.S. to visit the Disneyland Resort at a very early age. Those trips are some of his fondest childhood memories, and back then, he never could have imagined eventually working at Disney. He’s spent eight years as an apparel designer, and now leads a team of designers. His passion for Disney, design, and the magic of the characters are all translated in this Pocahontas doll.
Standing 11.5 inches tall, the fully poseable Pocahontas doll has a long-braided hairstyle and wears a highly detailed couture gown featuring a golden sunflower and feather collar, and a two-tone skirt with tiered faux suede fringe. Adding more elegance to the doll’s outfit are gold leaf embroidery on the pleated side of the dress, and a chain belt with Meeko, Flit, and compass charms.
A collector’s item of just 9,700 pieces, the Pocahontas doll includes a display stand and a certificate of authenticity. It also comes packaged in an elegant box with a gatefold cover, foil decoration, magnetic closure, and a fancy window display feature.
Priced at $129.99, the Pocahontas doll is now available for preorder at shopDisney.com. A matching limited-release Pocahontas collectible pin will also be sold on the website soon.
The Pocahontas doll follows the release of the collection’s Jasmine Doll last October. More new dolls will be launched in the succeeding months as part of the Disney Designer Collection, which will include a total of 15 beloved Disney heroines dressed in the most fashionable outfits.
