Are you a huge Cookie Monster fan? If you are, then you might not want to miss this rare opportunity to own a full-size replica of the cookie-loving Muppet from Sesame Street.
In celebration of the children’s show’s 50th anniversary, Hasbro is giving fans the chance to have their own fully poseable and photorealistic Cookie Monster replica by simply backing the item via the toy manufacturer’s crowdsourcing initiative called HASLAB.

Interested fans should head to https://hasbropulse.com/products/cookie-monster to back the Cookie Monster replica for $299.99. But in order for the collector’s item to go into production, HASLAB must meet a minimum of 3,000 backers by 11:59 p.m. EST on August 25th. If the campaign is successful, the backers’ payment method will be charged and Hasbro will deliver the final products to fans in 2020.
To create this Cookie Monster replica, Hasbro product designers interacted with the actual Cookie Monster armature and studied the puppet’s movements. They also took measurements and photographs to make an authentic model.
tIt has poseable arms, hands, fingers, and legs, as well as articulation in the hips, allowing it to sit and stand. The toy also has a hinged mouth that opens and closes, and a ball joint that enables the neck to move and pivot.
As for the replica’s plush, product designer Teresa Levy paid special attention to Cookie Monster’s fur color and texture when meeting with Cookie Monster and the Sesame Street team. A swatch was then sent to Hasbro’s factory to replicate the dyes and tumbling of the plush.
Each Cookie Monster replica will come with two original artwork lithographs, a certificate of authenticity, a yet-to-be revealed accessory, and a premium packaging celebrating 50 years of Cookie Monster.
“The success of our first HASLAB project in 2018 exceeded expectations, and we are excited to embark on a new project targeting a diverse fan community with the iconic Sesame Street brand,” said Tyla Bucher, vice president of global brand strategy and ecommerce marketing at Hasbro. “To be able to own their very own version of a character has been a wish of Sesame Street fans for years, and we’re delighted to put the opportunity into their hands for the first time.”
HASLAB’s first campaign was the collector’s item Jabba’s Sail Barge, which was successfully funded by 8,800 backers.
