If you’re a cinephile, then you have most likely seen all of the world’s greatest motion pictures. We imagine that you cried at the end of Titanic, or that your heart fluttered during the run of La La Land, only to be broken into a gazillion little jagged pieces when it didn’t end the way you expected. Besides for heartbreaking dramas, we know you smiled yourself silly when the leads in You’ve Got Mail got their happy-ever-after, or when Anna Scott and William Thacker found each other through serendipitous events in Notting Hill. We can also picture you sitting at the edge of your seat during the ensnaring scenes of the Avengers series or Star Wars.
Well, some of your favorite cinematic masterpieces are getting revamped with a dash of Disney magic, courtesy of German artist, Alex Pick (@apicollodraws). Are you ready to see Cinderella, Snow White, and the entire squad of royal beauties take on iconic live-action movie roles?
#1 Bride Wars
Two of Hollywood’s gorgeous leading ladies, Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson, gave us a hilarious take on the bridezilla syndrome in the movie, Bride Wars. Their characters went all out with diabolical plans to destroy each other in the days leading up to their wedding days. We wonder if Aurora and Belle would have the same fights the original characters did? We’re already imagining some animated catfights.
#2 La la Land
Or should we say Co Ro Na Land? The artist’s dark yet funny twist on the movie’s iconic title matches the surgical masks that Anita and Roger are donning while they dance the night away. Looks like the pandemic is not getting in the way of their love story. With two of their Dalmatian babies looking on, this movie is definitely going to be a hit. Also, they’re practicing physical distancing, and we applaud that. Let’s flatten this curve together!
#3 Breakfast at Tiffany’s
Who wouldn’t want to have breakfast at Tiffany’s with the legendary Audrey Hepburn and Princess Tiana? This imaginary remake would surely be a quirky adventure that we can’t wait to watch.
#4 A Star is Born Version 1
A tale as old as time meets A Star Is Born. If Belle and Prince Adam were to compose a song together, it would most likely be a ballad that traverses the unconventional beginning of their love story.
#5 Elite
Spanish thriller drama series, Elite, has taken Netflix by storm. The plot revolves around three students being hurled into the world of the elite around the time a mysterious crime has taken place. How do you picture the Disney version to play out? Much friendlier, we hope.
#6 Titanic
Titanic is arguably one of the most heart wrenching love stories to ever hit the silver screen. With the deprival of a happy ending for Jack and Rose, we’d hate to see that happen to Anna and Kristoff too!
#7 Forrest Gump
Forrest Gump is a cinematic work of art that has transcended generations with its thoughtful storyline and masterful performances. If this movie doesn’t tug at your heartstrings with the power of a thousand suns, we’re not sure what will. Now that the endearingly hilarious Kronk from The Emperor’s New Groove has taken on the iconic role, Forrest Gump is about to get a groovy spin. We wonder what role Yzma will be playing.
#8 A Star Is Born Version 2
Cinderella and her Prince Charming are ready to showcase their vocal chops in their own rendition of A Star Is Born. Perhaps their original song would be called “At the Strike of Midnight” or “The Glass Slipper”. Whatever they decide to call their collaboration, it’ll certainly lead to a happily ever after.
#9 A Star is Born Version 3
A Star is Born is graced with a third version, courtesy of Pocahontas and John Smith. We can already picture a movie full of beautiful music that personifies nature and rich culture.
#10 Confessions of a Shopaholic
Isla Fisher’s and Luke Brandon’s characters in this charismatic romcom were an unlikely pair that we absolutely loved. Imagine Ariel letting loose in the mall and shopping up a storm every single day. Good luck, Prince Eric!
#11 Pride and Prejudice
Sometimes the person you think you hate is the person you would find your fairytale with. Casting Prince Adam and Belle as Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth couldn’t be more perfect, as their stories are near parallels.
#12 In Her Shoes
Are you ready for a dose of some sisterly quarrels and tough love? You better be, because Frozen’s phenomenal duo, Elsa and Anna, are gearing up to step into the shoes of Cameron Diaz and Toni Colette for this Family drama/comedy.
#13 The Greatest Showman
The Greatest Showman is a movie paragon packed with soul-stirring music and heartening scenes that will both bring you to tears and make you smile. Are you prepared to see its Disney spinoff, The Greatest SNOWMAN?
#14 The Princess Diaries
The Princess Diaries has undoubtedly set the standard for 21st Century fairy tales. Spearheaded by the equally gorgeous and elegant Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews, this movie spoke to an audience of all ages. Princess Mia Thermopolis and the queen of Genovia have that spunky grandmother and granddaughter dynamic that lit up the silver screen. Although technically not a Disney princess, Anastasia is still one of the most iconic royals that made our childhood magical. Seeing her and her royal grandma take on these legendary roles is definitely something to look forward to!
#15 Riverdale
There’s a new squad of powerful girls in Riverdale. Veronica, Cheryl, Betty, and Josie better watch their backs. This may not be a movie, but each episode definitely feels like one.
#16 The Devil Wears Prada
Fashion, fame, glitz, glamour, and a demonic boss in designer heels, what else could we ask for in a movie? Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Meryl Streep were the fashion mavens of the decade in this stylishly produced film. With Snow White and the evil queen putting their own spin to the story, you can also expect poison apples and seven dwarves. Also, notice how Snow White adjusted the movie’s title accordingly. Now that’s savage.
#17 The Devil Wears Prada version 2
Cruella De Vil is the animated personification of the formidable Miranda Priestly. The voguish fashion, the stern and judgmental stares… they are one and the same.
#18 The Devil Wears Prada version 3
Cinderella and her evil stepmother are here to give you their version of The Devil Wears Prada. When will her fairy godmother swoop in and ‘bippity boppity boo’ her out of there?
#19 Mr. and Mrs. Smith
What a coincidence! John Smith and Pocahontas would be Mr. and Mrs. Smith too when they get married. We see an action-packed film remake for these two Disney icons in the future.
#20 Legally Blonde
Look out, Elle Woods. There’s a new quirky blonde in town, and her name is Aurora!
#21 Mean Girls
How interesting would it be to see Cinderella, Aurora, and Belle transform into antagonists for this teenage rom-com?
#22 Free Willy
Free Ursula is the spinoff of Free Willy that we never knew we needed. Admit it, this made you laugh.
#23 The Notebook
It’s true that behind every great love is a great story. Prince Eric and Ariel may have come from different worlds, but they were destined to meet. This remake would definitely be a beautiful tearjerker just like the original. We can feel it!
#24 Charlie’s Angels
Ariel, Rapunzel, and Mulan walking in the footsteps of Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu? Yes, please. We’ll watch it 88 times.
#25 The Notebook version 2
It’s Princess Aurora’s and Prince Philip’s turn to show us what their version of everlasting love looks like in a reimagined rendition of The Notebook. We’re going to need an extra large box of two-ply tissue for our extra large tears.
#26 Clueless
What do you get when a frog princess, a tangled beauty, and an enchanted royal meet? Well, we’re asking you, because we’re clueless.
#27 La La Land Version 2
Neverland gets a modern yet retro makeover with Peter Pan and Wendy Darling dancing under the sparkling starlight. This scene couldn’t get more magical than this. Shoutout to Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, and Smee too!
#28 The Witcher
Ok, this one isn’t actually a movie. In any case, we sense whimsical magic and a whole lot of action coming from this animated version of The Witcher TV series.
#29 Pretty Woman
You can’t go wrong with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, that’s why Pretty Woman is such a cinematic classic! They better watch out for Prince Eric and Princess Ariel, though, because we feel like they’re going to be just as amazing.
