It’s not even winter yet, but candy brand M&M’s is already getting ready for the holiday season with a brand new flavor.
M&M’s, owned by confectionery maker Mars, announced earlier this week that it would be launching White Chocolate Sugar Cookie M&M’s in November in time for Christmas. A take on the holiday-favorite sugar cookie, White Chocolate Sugar Cookie M&M’s are made with a white-chocolate, sugar-cookie-flavored shell complete with M&M’s classic crispy chocolate center. As seen on the Christmas-themed packaging of the upcoming seasonal flavor, these candies come in festive colors of red, green, and white.
While it’s unclear how M&M’s got the idea for the sugar cookie flavor, whoever invented the new variant definitely knows that sugar cookies are made even better when stuffed with M&M’s. Those who have already tried M&M’s-stuffed sugar cookies can attest that the candy’s chocolatey crunch perfectly complements the cookie’s buttery vanilla flavor, as well as with its soft and flaky texture.
Though White Chocolate Sugar Cookie M&M’s won’t hit store shelves across the country until late November, a few lucky fans will have the opportunity to try out the new flavor ahead of its official release. M&M’s is hosting a social media contest on its official Twitter and Instagram pages on July 25th. And for a chance to win a first taste of White Chocolate Sugar Cookie M&M’s, fans simply need to comment on the photos of the new flavor that will be posted on the two social media platforms within that day.
Update 11/22/20: The M&M’s are now available to purchase at Walmart.
