Fans of the hit Netflix crime drama TV series, Narcos, will soon be able to watch all of the show’s seasons without needing a Netflix subscription, or any paid subscription in fact. Narcos, along with its companion show Narcos: Mexico, will start streaming for free starting October 20th through ViacomCBS’s Pluto TV platform.
Narcos was one of Netflix’s earlier shows which may be the reason why ViacomCBS was able to acquire rights to air it. While most of Netflix’s more recent original productions have stricter licensing contracts, Narcos and Narcos: Mexico are still owned by the French studio, Gaumont.
The show’s additional home, Pluto TV, is a free streaming service housing more than 250 unique channels. All seasons of Narcos and Narcos: Mexico will be available on the service’s Crime Drama and Narco Novelas channels. It will also be available on its own Narcos channel.
The two shows together offer 5 seasons. The first season will air 10PM ET on weeknights with replays available at 8PM the next day. Unlike Netflix, episodes releases will be spaced apart with Pluto TV planning to debut a new season every month until February of next year.
