Super Mario Bros. can be found almost everywhere and in many forms. Apart from the classic games, we’ve seen toys, clothes, and, in Japan, even a manga.
Super Mario manga was first released exclusively in Japan back in September of 2017. It follows Mario as he goes through different adventures and is based on the video games. But unless you understand Japanese, you wouldn’t be able to read them – until now.

Luckily, this year, Viz Media is bringing the English version of the manga to the US. The company was able to secure a license for a special manga based on Super Mario. Announced via Twitter, the English release of the manga already has an Amazon listing with the release date set to December 8, 2020.
On the Amazon page, the description for the manga reads, “Join Mario and pals in crazy adventures inspired by the hit video games! This collection of short stories showcases the fan-favorite characters of the Super Mario Bros. world in new, unconventional and hilarious ways. Handpicked from years of Mario comics in Japan, this compilation has never been available in English—until now!”
