At CES 2022, we’re seeing the latest, most high-concept tech around, but we also get to see great inventions that fulfill needs most people don’t even know they have — like the need for Steambox, the self-heating lunchbox.
Packing a lunch often means eating cold food or nuking your pre-made meal in the microwave, neither of which are great options.
Steambox is a nifty little device that can solve this problem. It’s a lunchbox that heats up just enough to release steam, heating the contents of your lunchbox gradually. This would be more effective than using a microwave because steam doesn’t dry out food, helping to preserve nutrients — and keep it tasting a lot better!
It’ll take a little longer than a microwave to heat your food up, but all you’ll need to do is remember to fire it up 15 minutes before you plan to eat and you’ll be all set. You can do that on the box itself or using the companion app. The app also has features that include recipes, calorie tracking, and more.
Steambox has a rechargeable battery, and can heat up three meals on a full charge. Steambox is open for pre-orders now, and plan to ship the boxes out starting in April.
