Jennifer Lawrence is reportedly being considered to portray a classic role in Star Trek 4.

According to We Got This Covered, the next Star Trek movie is looking to bring another character from Star Trek: The Original Series to the Kelvin timeline, and that character is none other than Number One. Paramount Pictures wants a huge actress to play the character, and sources told We Got This Covered that Lawrence being eyed for the role.

Number One first appeared in the initial 1965 pilot episode of Star Trek: The Original Series. Played by Majel Barrett, Number One was the intellectual second-in-command to Captain Christopher Pike of the starship Enterprise. Though that pilot was ultimately rejected with most of its characters, including Number One, being omitted from the second pilot and the subsequent series, footage from the episode was repurposed for inclusion in the two-part story The Menagerie in 1966.

Over 50 years later, Number One appeared in Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery, in which she revealed her name to be Una. This latest incarnation of the character was played by Rebecca Romijn, who, like Lawrence, also portrayed Mystique in the X-Men film series.

Lawrence last graced the big screen in the 2019 film X-Men: Dark Phoenix. While her time in the X-Men franchise was already over, the 29-year-old actress has a lot of new projects coming up, so it’s unclear if she would be interested in playing Number One in Star Trek 4. Lawrence will be next seen in the crime drama Mob Girl, comedy flick Don’t Look Up, Elizabeth Holmes biopic Bad Blood, and an untitled Lila Neugebauer movie.

Written and directed by Noah Hawley, Star Trek 4 is expected to bring back original cast members Chris Pine as Captain James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Commander Spock, Zoe Saldana as Lieutenant Nyota Uhura, Simon Pegg as Lieutenant Commander Montgomery Scott, and Karl Urban as Doctor ‘Bones’ McCoy.
