Saved by the Bell reboot teaser trailer introduces new faces at Bayside High 1

Peacock, NBCUniversal’s new streaming service, has dropped the first teaser trailer for the much-awaited Saved by the Bell reboot.

The minute-long video starts with original Saved by the Bell characters A.C. Slater (Mario Lopez) and Jessie Spano (Elizabeth Berkley) reminiscing on all the fun they had in high school 30 years ago. The teaser then cuts to a number of scenes introducing the new faces at Bayside High, which has started to accept students from low-income schools since original series character Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) ― now the governor of California ― closed several of them.

One of the new characters populating the reboot is Principal Toddman (John Michael Higgins), who took over Mr. Belding’s (Dennis Haskins) role as the head of Bayside High. Fans will also get to know Jessie’s sensitive man-child son, Jamie Spano (Belmont Cameli), who is seen being hit on by the sharp-tongued cheerleader Lexi (Josie Totah) in the teaser trailer.

Morris’ charming and privileged son, Mac (Mitchell Hoog), is also one of the main characters in the reboot. In the video, Mac is seen arrogantly showing Daisy (Haskiri Velazquez), a student from one of the recently closed local schools, how students get their books at Bayside High. Daisy’s best friend, Aisha (Alycia Pascual-Pena), is also one of the new faces at the school, as well as a student named Devante (Dexter Dante) who seems to have developed a close bond with A.C.

The teaser ends with an awkward and hilarious scene involving A.C., Mac, and Jamie. After an apparent fight between the two students, A.C., who now works as a gym teacher at Bayside High, seemingly tries to reconcile them but ends up sharing too many details about his personal life.

“When I was in high school, I constantly used to fight with my best friend over a hot girl. Oh, it was actually your dad over your mom,” A.C. smilingly tells Mac.

“Then I just found another girl that I really liked and started hooking up with her instead. Oh wait, that was your mom,” A.C. reveals to Jamie.

The Saved by the Bell reboot has no exact release date yet, but the teaser indicates that it will be available for streaming at some point this year.
