Alongside the launch of their latest flagship phone, the OnePlus 11, this week OnePlus announced their first tablet and iPad competitor – the OnePlus Pad.
The new OnePlus Pad is an 11.6-inch Android tablet with rounded edges, a unique camera layout on the back, and a thin 6.54mm frame design that could help the device stand out in the congested tablet marketplace. OnePlus has also implemented a striking halo-green “Star Orbit metal” design that was developed in-house.

Going by specs released by OnePlus, the OnePlus Pad has a 2800 x 2000 resolution with an 88% screen-to-body ratio and capacity for up to 144Hz refresh rates on whitelisted apps or 120Hz while using other apps or scrolling. The display can reach up to 500 nits brightness and has a feature OnePlus describes as “2048 levels of intelligent brightness control” that optimizes the screen’s brightness to match the environment.
It’s also the first tablet in the world with a 7:5 aspect ratio, which OnePlus claims is ideal – placing it somewhere been a more typical 3:2 and a 4:3 display.
The tablet is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. The device also comes powered by 12GB of RAM and supports Wi-Fi 6.
OnePlus also announced a “Cellular Data Sharing” feature for the OnePlus Pad, which seems to be an enhanced method of sharing internet connectivity between mobile devices up to 5 meters away. This feature allows users to automatically connect to nearby OnePlus smartphones running OxygenOS 13.1 or above through Wi-Fi, effectively eliminating the need for a SIM card inside of the tablet.
The OnePlus Pad introduces OnePlus’ Omnibearing Sound Field technology, which detects the screen’s orientation and optimizes sound quality using four speakers in the four corners of the tablet. The OnePlus Pad also comes equipped with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
Its 9,510mAh battery is reported to provide up to 12 hours of streaming, and the tablet comes with a 67W SUPERVOOC charger, which can charge the device to 100% in 80 minutes.
The tablet has other useful features, such as the ability to link to your OnePlus smartphone and receive your smartphone notifications directly on the tablet, sync your tablet with your TV to cast content and control the TV.
Last but not least, on the accessory front for the OnePlus Pad, there will be a OnePlus Stylo (a stylus) and a OnePlus Magnetic Keyboard available.
OnePlus Pad Availability
OnePlus announced that pre-orders for the OnePlus Pad will begin in April 2023, but it did not release any pricing information. We’re hoping it will be affordable, especially if OnePlus wants to compete.
