What is House of the Dragon about?

Based on George R.R. Martin’s 2018 novel Fire & Blood, the prequel series House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. It chronicles the beginning of the end of House Targaryen and the events that led to the Targaryen civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons.
