Nacho Fries are back at Taco Bell ― But for how long?

Taco Bell brings back Nacho Fries for a limited time

Nacho Fries are back at Taco Bell But for how long

Nacho Fries, Taco Bell’s #1 best-selling limited-time offering, are back on the menu.

Though the fast-food chain has yet to specify how long the fan-favorite returning item will remain on the menu, the promotions surrounding the Nacho Fries’ return suggest that they will be available at Taco Bell locations nationwide through the month of April.

Nacho Fries 2022 promotions

Taco Bell Rewards members are getting special early access to Nacho Fries. On March 8th and 9th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. local time, users of the Taco Bell Rewards program can order Nacho Fries via the Taco Bell app, ahead of the item’s nationwide return on March 10th. Early access to Nacho Fries, however, is only valid for in-store and drive-thru pickup orders.

Taco Bell is also offering members of its rewards program free a la carte Nacho Fries from March 24th to 26th, with a minimum $1 purchase. The free one-time a la carte Nacho Fries is redeemable via the Taco Bell app at participating Taco Bell locations, and not available with delivery orders.

Then starting March 27th through April 13th, Taco Bell is partnering with Grubhub to offer free Nacho Fries to customers, with a minimum $15 purchase.

Outside of the aforementioned promotions, Nacho Fries are available a la carte for $1.49 and as part of a Nacho Fries Box for $5.49. In addition to the Nacho Fries, a Nacho Fries Box also includes a Beefy 5-layer Burrito, Crunchy Taco, and medium drink. But these prices are subject to change based on location.

Nacho Fries 2022 faux movie campaign

Each iteration of Nacho Fries has been accompanied by a faux movie campaign. And for this iteration of the beloved menu item, Taco Bell’s Live Mȧs productions created a storyline with the help of fans. The virtual writers’ room for the faux movie campaign started earlier this year when the chain called for submissions via Taco Bell’s Nacho Fries Challenge, which invited fans to submit their original ideas for the next Nacho Fries commercial via Twitter with the hashtag #FriesChallenge.

Aptly titled, Fry Again, the yet-to-be-released Nacho Fries commercial features a Groundhog Day-like time loop story where the main character, Vanessa, is stuck in the same day over and over again, so she can continue eating her beloved Nacho Fries every single day. It is produced in partnership with Deutsch LA and Taco Bell’s 1.9 million Twitter followers, which was engaged by the chain via creative polls on Twitter and Instagram to determine certain details in the commercial, including the main character’s name, outfit, sidekicks, all the way down to the name of her dog.

“We’ve explored tons of genres for Nacho Fries over the years, but this may be my favorite yet because it gave our most loyal fans a front-row seat to co-create one of our biggest fan-led campaigns ever,” said Tracee Larocca, Head of Taco Bell Brand Creative. “With the bar set this high, who knows where we’ll take Nacho Fries next.”
