Motorola has refreshed their popular and very wallet-friendly G series – the moto g 2025 and moto g power 2025, making the g power more durable than ever before.

As expected, the two new devices bring features typically reserved for premium phones down to accessible price points, and they certainly look nicer than what you’d expect from a typical budget phone—especially with their swanky vegan back-leather finishes.

Speaking of which, the star of the show is undoubtedly the moto g power 2025, which is priced at $299.99. Sporting a massive 5000mAh battery, it offers impressive battery life for a budget phone. Motorola has also included both 30W TurboPower wired charging and 15W wireless charging this time around, which is a feature rarely seen at this price point.

Both phones come with surprisingly bright 1000-nit displays and 120Hz refresh rates, with the moto g rocking a 6.7-inch screen and the power variant going slightly bigger with a 6.8-inch display. Audio hasn’t been overlooked, either; both phones offer Dolby Atmos support and Hi-Res Audio certification.

At this price point, we’re not expecting too much, but on paper, the photography setup is particularly impressive on the moto g power, featuring a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultrawide lens that doubles as a macro shooter, and a 16MP selfie camera. The standard moto g doesn’t lag too far behind, sporting its own 50MP main sensor with AI-powered night vision.

Perhaps what really sets the moto g power 2025 apart from the competition is its durability at such a low price point. The moto g power has achieved MIL-STD-810H certification, which means it can handle everything from 4-foot drops to extreme temperatures (-4°F to 140°F). It’s also rated IP68 and IP69 for serious water resistance, effectively making the device stand out as one of the most affordable water-resistant smartphones on the market.

The moto g 2025 will hit shelves first, launching January 30th at $199.99 in a choice of forest gray or sapphire blue colors, while the moto g power 2025 follows on February 6th at $299.99 in a choice of slate gray or forest green colors. Both will be available through major carriers and retailers across the US, with Canadian availability coming in May.
