The moto g stylus 2025 has been announced, and it’s introducing some big upgrades to the popular budget phone with a built-in stylus.
Which reminds us, let’s begin with what makes this phone unique—that built-in stylus. Motorola has upgraded their game with 6.4× more responsiveness than last year’s model.
But what actually impressed us the most is how the stylus enhances AI-based features. The Sketch to Image feature in Moto Note converts crude drawings into refined images. And Google’s Circle to Search feature is so much more accurate when done with a stylus rather than your finger.

As far as color choices go, Motorola partnered with Pantone on two vibrant colors for the G Stylus 2025: Gibraltar Sea (blue) and Surf the Web, both of which feature a premium leather-inspired finish.
But form over function? This phone boasts IP68 water resistance and MIL-STD-810H certification, meaning it can survive being submerged in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes and survive drops from the same height.
The 6.7″ pOLED Super HD display (2712 × 1220) ought to be pretty stunning as well. With its adaptive refresh rate going up to 120Hz and peak brightness reaching a mighty 3000 nits, this screen is bound to breeze through everything from bright outdoor conditions to smooth scrolling.
In terms of cameras, the 50MP main camera features Sony’s LYTIA 700C sensor with optical image stabilization. It’s a first for the sensor to appear in the moto g stylus family and something that should help with low-light photography performance.
The camera system is rounded out with a multi-purpose 13MP ultrawide lens that also functions as a macro camera, and a capable 32MP front camera for improved selfies, with Motorola’s moto ai processing running in the background to ensure your photos are their best.
As far as battery goes, the moto g stylus 2025 has a rather large 5000 mAh battery that Motorola claims will last more than 40 hours on a single charge. When you do need to charge, 68W TurboPower charging can provide a day’s of battery power in just 15 minutes, with 15W wireless charging support also available.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Mobile Platform and 8GB. Unfortunately, at a $399 price point, 8GB is a bit skimpy.
The moto g stylus 2025 comes running on Android 15. Motorola also includes their own security applications like Moto Secure and ThinkShield, as well as customization features via the Hello UX.
If you’re in the US, you can pick up the moto g stylus 2025 starting April 17 at Amazon, Best Buy, and motorola.com for $399.99. It will roll out to carriers such as T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, and others in the months that follow. Canadian buyers will have to wait until May 13.
