Following the massive success of the BTS Meal, McDonald’s is introducing a brand-new celebrity meal to its menu this August.
In collaboration with hip-hop artist Saweetie, the fast-food giant will start serving the Saweetie Meal starting August 9th at all McDonald’s restaurants across the U.S.
The Saweetie Meal features a Big Mac, 4-piece Chicken McNuggets, medium World Famous Fries, a medium Sprite, Tangy BBQ Sauce, and Sweet ‘N Sour sauce, which was renamed to Saweetie ‘N Sour in honor of the new meal.
Saweetie likes to put her own spin on all her favorite foods to create unique combinations and flavors. And McDonald’s is encouraging fans to do the same by ordering the Saweetie Meal and remixing it in one of the four tasty ways shown in the photo below, just like what the rapper does.
“McDonald’s and I run deep – from growing up back in Hayward, California, all through my college days – so I had to bring my icy gang in on my all-time favorites,” said Saweetie in a statement. “Depending on the mood I’m in, there are so many ways to enjoy my order. I like to keep things fresh – I know that’s right.”
As a nod to Saweetie’s debut single Icy Girl, McDonald’s has made an “icy new packaging” especially for the artist’s limited-time meal.
Saweetie skyrocketed to fame with her 2019 viral song My Type, which has now more than 121 million views on YouTube. She also has 17.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify and 12 million followers on Instagram.
“We’re thrilled to team up with Saweetie, a true brand fan who puts her own spin on everything she touches across music, fashion, beauty and culture,” said Morgan Flatley, Chief Marketing and Digital Customer Experience Officer, McDonald’s USA. “And now she’s brought that spark and creativity to her signature McDonald’s order by celebrating her love for our food and passion for mixing things up.”
The Saweetie Meal will be available in-restaurant, at the Drive-Thru, through McDelivery, and on the McDonald’s app using contactless mobile order and pay. Fans can also order it through MyMcDonald’s Rewards, where they can earn points on every dollar they spend.
Prior to the BTS Meal, which helped McDonald’s sales grow 25.9% at U.S. restaurants last quarter, the fast-food chain also released celebrity meals honoring J Balvin and Travis Scott last year.
