Among Us fans are bidding over $50,000 on a McDonald’s chicken nugget that is shaped like a crewmate from the popular multiplayer online game.

The chicken nugget, which came from an order of McDonald’s BTS Meal, was originally listed on eBay for $0.99 by a user named Polizna on May 28th. But as of this writing, the listing has already received 160 bids, and the price has climbed sharply to $51,800. The auction will continue for one more day, and with almost a thousand watchers, it won’t be a surprise if the price continues to go up.

More Among Us fans are expected to bid on the chicken nugget, as the game’s official Twitter account tweeted a link to the listing on Wednesday. At the time of the post, the highest bid on the chicken nugget was only $34,443.43.

As noted in the description of the listing, the chicken nugget has an average expiration of about 14 days and will be delivered to the winning bidder prior to its expiration. To ensure freshness, the chicken nugget will be frozen and then air-sealed before shipping. The seller will also ship some Szechuan sauce with the chicken nugget at the buyer’s request.

Inspired by the party game Mafia and the science fiction horror film The Thing, Among Us is a social deduction game that features 2D characters and takes place in a space-themed setting. Developed and published by game studio Innersloth, the game has each player take on one of two roles, most being crewmates, and a predetermined number being impostors.

The goal of the crewmates is to identify the Impostors, eliminate them, and complete tasks around the selected map. The impostors’ goal, meanwhile, is to covertly sabotage and kill the crewmates before they complete all of their tasks.

Among Us was originally released in 2018 to little mainstream attention. It, however, gained massive popularity in 2020 due to many well-known Twitch streamers and YouTubers playing it. Many game analysts also credited the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to the growth of the game.
