Last time around, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x was powered by Intel processors, while the ThinkBook 14 and 16 got AMD Ryzen processors. Not so at CES 2022 — the next generations of all three laptops will not only run on Intel processors, but will be Intel Evo-certified for performance.

The thinner and lighter option is the ThinkBook 13x Gen 2. It will be powered by an Intel 12th Gen Core processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics, and houses a 13.3″ 16:10 display — that’s the aspect ratio that seems to be the new norm at this year’s show. Here’s another new norm — EyeSafe certification, which indicates that the display cuts down on the amount of blue light it emits. The edge-to-edge display is mirrored by an edge-to-edge keyboard, and battery life should be strong thanks to a large 56Whr battery.

Lenovo also has some add-ons ready for the ThinkBook 13x Gen 2. In addition to a mobile Thunderbolt dock, there’s a new wireless charging mat that can be plugged into the laptop, allowing you to charge up your phone and the laptop while working.

Lenovo also announced the ThinkBook 14 and 16 Gen 4 laptops today. The 14″ model offers a 2880×1800 display with a 90Hz refresh rate, while the 16″ model has a 2560×1600 display and offers a higher 120Hz refresh rate. Both of these laptops have the potential to be more powerful, with discrete NVIDIA RTX graphics available as options on top of the same Intel 12th Gen Core processors available to the ThinkBook 13x Gen 2.

As far as your video conferencing needs go, all three laptops have Dolby Atmos speaker systems and FHD infrared webcams. An ambient light sensor helps the laptops automatically adjust screen brightness, saving battery life.

The ThinkBook 13x Gen 2, ThinkBook 14 Gen 4, and ThinkBook 16 Gen 4 are expected to be available by April. These will start at $1,100, $840, and $860, respectively.
