Puma has officially launched its collaboration with LaMelo Ball, the sports brand’s newest recruit for its ever-expanding basketball family called Puma Hoops.

Dubbed the Melo Collection, the collab is a mini clothing lineup comprised of the 1 of 1 Melo Men’s Tee and the 1 of 1 Melo Men’s Hoodie.

Both the tee and the hoodie feature a Melo graphic print at the left chest and a Puma Cat Logo print at the right chest. Both garments are also adorned with Ball’s signature “1 With Wings” graphic at the back.

“It’s pretty much like a golden child,” Ball said when asked about the meaning of the “1 With Wings” symbol. “There’s an angel in there. And the 1 represents me and the wings is like an angel, with the halo. Pretty much a golden child. They all link up together.”

Available in S-XXL, the 100% cotton 1 of 1 Melo Men’s Tee retails for $40 each. The 1 of 1 Melo Men’s Hoodie, meanwhile, sells for $70 each. Made of 60% cotton and 40% polyester, the hooded sweatshirt is available in XS-3XL. The collection is now available to purchase on the Puma website.

Talking about his “Not from Here” mentality that inspired the collection, Ball told Hypebeast that he “personally chose a different path” to achieve his success and that what defines who he is today. “I know some people think I am mysterious or ‘not from here,’ and I might have to agree. I am someone who likes to be different and consider myself to be one of one,” explained the Charlotte Hornets point guard.

While the clothing collection is a great way to kick off the partnership between Puma and Ball, it’s not yet clear whether it will be followed with a release of any PE-style footwear makeups or signature PUMA silhouettes in honor of the NBA star.
